Leopard

October 24th, 2007

Apple is as usual hyping up its new operating system release: "Leopard". Here's why I won't upgrade:

  • The time machine doesn't sound like its useful for people who like to understand what's going on under the hood.
  • I'm contemplating switching from Mac OS X to Debian or FreeBSD entirely.
  • I read a review of how fast the new Mail application is, but I'm sure that it veers further away from a standard, open mail storage format, like they did with the last release of Mail. I stuck with Mail to leverage its integration with Spotlight, which was a waste because in my humble opinion, spotlight sucks.
There are more, but that's it for now.
